![]() ![]() But then I see the kernel version is mentioned in Settings > Android version and it is the same date as the LineageOS version so I assume the kernel IS part of the LineageOS distro. And I would have to update/overwrite the kernel. I am wondering if there is any other software I need to wipe/update/install to ensure that there is NO old, possibly malware/spyware laden software on the phone.įor example, I see people make custom kernels and so I was wondering if the kernel is separate from the LineageOS distribution. I have a good working phone, very happy with it, and would like to thank the whole LineageOS community for all the work, software and support! Select the zip file we just copied to the device & swipe right to confirm the install. Now, on your Android device, Tap Install. Now push the zip file we downloaded earlier using: adb push recovery-installer.zip /. I downloaded, verified and installed LineageOS on the phone. Boot Temporary into TWRP Recovery directly using the command below: fastboot boot recovery.img. I downloaded, verified and updated TWRP on the phone. So I am trying to get rid of any existing old software by wiping, and updating or re-installing with new software. I would of course like to have a malware/spyware free phone and I would like to run only LineageOS on it. I am concerned that this phone may also have some malware/spyware installed on it. I just bought a used LG G3 from someone who had already put TWRP on it, as well as several mobile OS's including LineageOS, AOSP, UbuntuTouch, etc. I am brand new to LineageOS so maybe some noob questions here :) ![]()
